A major figure in world cinema, Isabelle Huppert will be the guest of honour at LuxFilmFest. On the occasion of the screening of The Blood Countess (Die Blutgräfin), in which she gives a haunting and disturbing performance, the actress will receive a Talent Award celebrating a career of rare audacity, freedom and intensity. An absolute icon and one of the most prolific and daring actresses in world cinema, Isabelle Huppert has built, since the 1970s, a staggering filmography, collaborating with the greatest directors—from Chabrol to Haneke, from, Godard to Verhoeven. Never confined to a single image, she embodies artistic freedom and the constant reinvention of perfromance. This time, she lends her presence to a loose adaptation of the life of Countess Elizabeth Báthory in The Blood Countess (Die Blutgräfin) by Ulrike Ottinger. LuxFilmFest has chosen this film for its Awards Ceremony, taking place on March 14th at Kinepolis.
