LuxFilmLab December : Father, Mother, Sister, Brother

In December, LuxFilmLab invites you to discover a subtle and delicate exploration of family relationships with Father, Mother, Sister, Brother by Jim Jarmusch.

Six years after The Dead Don’t Die, Jim Jarmusch returns with a delightful triptych on family, blending irony, melancholy, and poetry, a film that earned him the Golden Lion at the latest Venice Film Festival.

A prestigious cast brings together Jarmusch regulars (Adam Driver, Tom Waits), acclaimed actresses (Cate Blanchett, Vicky Krieps, Charlotte Rampling), and rising talents (Luka Sabbat, Indya Moore).

Discover the film exclusively on Wednesday 3 December at 8 pm at Ciné Utopia.

Carefully constructed as a triptych, Father Mother Sister Brother depicts three variations on family relationships in three different countries: a reclusive father receives a visit from his grown children in Northeast US, two sisters reunite with their novelist mother in Dublin, and two adult twins return to Paris to deal with a family tragedy.

About LuxFilmLab:

The first Wednesday of every month, LuxFilmLab – a joint initiative by Luxembourg City Film Festival and Kinepolis – highlights one feature film, chosen in cooperation by LuxFilmFest’s team and the Kinepolis programme team. A member of the Festival programming team introduces the special LuxFilmLab screenings, with the aim of supporting films whose release dates didn’t allow for them to be selected for the Festival itself but whose artistic qualities would very likely have led to their inclusion in the LuxFilmFest line-up.

*LuxFilmFest isn’t involved in the commercial aspects of these screenings. Access to the screenings and ticket prices are set by Kinepolis.
