Kane Persons
Kane Parsons, better known by his online moniker Kane Pixels, is an American filmmaker, visual effects artist, and composer born on June 18, 2005. A true prodigy of digital creation, he taught himself animation and visual effects at a young age, honing his skills on industry-standard software like After Effects and Blender. Also a musician since childhood, he scores his own projects, crafting the deeply unsettling soundscapes that have become his signature.
While he first gained attention with animated short films, his career skyrocketed in January 2022. The release of his short film The Backrooms (Found Footage) on YouTube became a massive global viral phenomenon, quickly amassing tens of millions of views. This explosive success spawned a cult web series that completely redefined online horror—a deeply unique visual universe he continued to explore through other suspenseful creations like The Oldest View (2023) and the digital horror of People Live Still Here (2025). The raw talent of this young creator is now making its way to the big screen through this highly anticipated feature film adaptation of The Backrooms, distributed by the acclaimed studio A24.
