Synopsis
In 1930s Paris, Madeleine Verdier, an unsuccessful young actress is accused of the murder of a famous producer. Thanks to best friend Pauline, a lawyer, she is acquitted on the grounds of self-defence. Glory and riches follow, until the truth emerges…

François Ozon
Born in Paris in 1967, François Ozon studied at the La Fémis film school. After directing several short films, he made his feature debut with Sitcom in 1998. But it was 2002’s 8 femmes, with its star-studded cast, that made Ozon a household name in France. A prolific director. Ozon has since made numerous critically acclaimed films that have performed well at the box office. He also served on the jury at the Berlin Film Festival in 2012.
