Biography
Jane Schoenbrun is an American filmmaker and screenwriter. After directing several independent projects, Schoenbrun gained international recognition with We’re All Going to the World’s Fair, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2021. Their second fiction feature, I Saw the TV Glow (2024), also screened at Sundance before receiving a worldwide theatrical release.
Schoenbrun’s work frequently examines contemporary media culture, technological nostalgia, and themes surrounding queer and trans identities. In 2026, Schoenbrun premiered Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma as the opening film of the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival. Produced by Plan B Entertainment and distributed by MUBI, this feature concludes their acclaimed “screen trilogy”. The film won the Queer Palm at Cannes the same year.
