British national Lucien Giles Castaing-Taylor (born 1966) and French national Véréna Paravel (born 1971) are both anthropologists, artists, filmmakers and photographers who work at Harvard University’s Sensory Ethnography Lab. They both made several films on their own (Castaing-Taylor also co-directed with Ilisa Barbash on his first three films), but since 2012 they have teamed up to make documentary films including Leviathan, which was shown at the 2013 Lux Film Fest.
