Golda
Synopsis
On the day it celebrates Yom Kippur in 1973, Israel is confronted with a surprise attack by the joint military forces of Egypt, Syria, and Jordan on the Sinai Peninsula and the Golan Heights. Known as the Iron Lady of Israel, the country’s only female prime minister, Golda Meier, is faced with high-stakes decisions as the war rages over the following three weeks.

Guy Nattiv
Born in Tel Aviv in 1973, Guy Nattiv graduated from his home city’s Camera Obscura film school, having previously worked in advertising for Publicis Groupe. He made several award-winning short films, including 2018’s racial Skin, a tale of racial hate crime, which won the 2018 Academy Award for best live short. His feature film of the same name was also released in 2018. Golda, his biopic about Golda Meir, is selected for the Festival in 2023, and he is back in 2024 with a new biopic about the Iranian judoka Leila Hosseini.
