Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person
Synopsis
Sasha is a young vampire with a serious problem: she’s too sensitive to kill! When her exasperated parents cut off her blood supply, Sasha’s life is in jeopardy. Luckily, she meets Paul, a lonely teenager with suicidal tendencies who is willing to give his life to save hers. But their friendly agreement soon becomes a nocturnal quest to fulfill Paul’s last wishes before day breaks.
Ariane Louis-Seize, one of the rising stars of Quebec cinema, delivers a highly personal vision in a surprising film at the crossroads of genres, featuring characters on the fringes of society confronted with the major upheavals of adolescence. With a cinematography reminiscent of Morse (2008) by Sweden’s Thomas Alfredson, Ariane Louis-Seize’s long-awaited debut feature shines above all in its inventiveness and unique humour.
