Born in the Netherlands, Stefanie Kolk studied biophysics and lived in Japan for two years before joining the Netherlands Film Academy. Her graduation short films (Clan, Harbor and Eyes on the Road) were presented in international competition at Locarno in 2016, 2017 and 2019. In 2019, she was part of the Berlinale Talents and the Talent en Route du Netherlands Film Festival. Presented at the Giornate degli Autori in Venice, Melk is her first feature film
