Born in South Orange, New Jersey in 1975, Zach Braff graduated in film studies from Northwestern University’s School of Communication. He found fame as JD in medical comedy series Scrubs, earning three Golden Globes and an Emmy nomination in the process. He also directed several episodes of the show, which ran from 2001 to 2010. He oversaw the soundtrack for first film as director, Garden State, which won him a Grammy in 2005.
