The inspiring portrait of a young designer who wants to change fashion

Fashion designer Amy Powney of cult label Mother of Pearl is a rising star in the London fashion scene. Raised off-the-grid in rural England by activist parents, Amy has always felt uneasy about the devastating environmental impact of her industry. When she wins the coveted Vogue award for the Best Young Designer of the Year, Amy decides to use the prize money to create a sustainable collection from field to finished garment and transform her entire business. Over the following three years, her own personal revolution becomes the precursor of a much bigger, societal change.

Screening of the film FASHION REIMAGINED in collaboration with Fashion Revolution Luxembourg, followed by a round table on ethics, sustainability and the urgent need to reinvent fashion today, with Chantal Gary (Deputy in the Chamber of Deputies Luxembourg, Déi Gréng), Georges Kieffer (Founder and director of BENU Village Esch asbl) and Gabriella Moya (designer, AWKAA Luxembourg). Moderation: Stylianee Parascha (President of Fashion Revolution Luxembourg).

The documentary is a colourful, sometimes shocking education and Hutner’s fine narrative structure, coupled with Powney’s appealing warmth and drive, will have you invested in the fate of her Mother of Pearl label and the future thinking around our relationship to fashion.
