Biography

Lynne Ramsay is an acclaimed Scottish filmmaker whose work is known for its emotional intensity and striking visual language. Born into a working-class family in Glasgow, she studied fine art and photography at Edinburgh Napier University before training as a filmmaker at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield. Emerging from the UK art-house scene with Ratcatcher (1999), she gained international recognition with Movern Callar (2002), We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011), and You Were Never Really Here (2017). Die My Love (2025) is her fifth feature-length film.
