Biography
A charismatic member of The Libertines and Babyshambles, Peter Doherty embodies authentic rock, blending fragile poetry and romantic chaos. He began his solo career in 2009 with his album Grace/Wastelands, which was almost entirely acoustic and clearly revealed his folk and jazz influences. Several solo albums followed, as well as a collaboration with Frédéric Lo on the album The Fantasy Life of Poetry & Crime. In 2012, he made his film debut as Octave in Sylvie Verheyde’s Confession d’un enfant du siècle, which was presented at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2024, Stranger in My Own Skin, a documentary directed by his partner Katia de Vidas, who filmed him in his daily life for several years, was released. He composed the soundtrack for Xavier Beauvois’ film La Vallée des fous.
