Synopsis
Basilio and his mother, now both dead, undertake a spiritual journey across a landscape devastated by war. A criminal when alive, Basilio must now relive his actions with his mother as a witness. Only through great sacrifice will they discover the redemption they seek.Horizonte is a viscerally felt meditation on the decades of brutal conflict in Colombia.
With an evocative visual program and heightened attention to ambient sound, the film forges an atmosphere which is at once poetic and ferocious, wherein despair and redemption coexist in a landscape marked by a haunting beauty
“…it is a masterfully made film that leaves the viewer with a lasting impression and serves as a second step in César Augusto Acevedo’s filmmaking career that we've been waiting and hoping for for a long time.” Marko Stojiljković, CineEuropa, 10/09/2024
