Paolo Sorrentino is an Italian director, screenwriter, and writer who was born in Naples.
His second film, The Consequences of Love, was selected for official competition at the Cannes Film Festival. He won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film with The Great Beauty (La grande bellezza) in 2014, and his TV series The Young Pope has met worldwide success.
Parthenope is his tenth feature film.
