As four girls from four different eras spend their youth in the same farm in northern Germany, their lives become intertwined until time seems to dissolve.
Intricately and delicately intertwining the lives of four generations of women over a period of a hundred years, Sound of Falling weaves a sensory and poetic tapestry of family memories and experiences in the backdrop of historical and social traumas faced by women in the 20th-century Germany.

Mascha Schilinski
Née à Berlin en 1984, Mascha Schilinski est une réalisatrice et scénariste allemande. Elle suit à partir de 2012 des études de réalisation à la Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Réalisé dans le cadre de ses études, son premier court-métrage, The Cat (2015) est présenté au Festival du film Max Ophüls Preis. Son film de fin d’études et premier long, Dark Blue Girl (2017), est nommé pour le Prix du meilleur premier film à la Berlinale, et remporte cinq prix au Vancouver International Women in Film Festival. Son deuxième film, Les Échos du passé (2025) est sélectionné en Compétition au 78ème Festival de Cannes, où il remporte le Prix du Jury. Il est également sélectionné pour représenter l’Allemagne dans la catégorie du Meilleur film international aux Oscars 2026.
