The Testament of Ann Lee
Synopsis
At the end of the 18th century, Ann Lee left England for New York, where she found the Shaker religious movement. Preaching gender and social equality, she is quickly revered by her followers as the female Christ.
Based on real events, the film depicts the creation of a utopian society and the Shakers’ cult through song and dance.

Mona Fastvold
Mona Fastvold is a Norvewgian director, screenwriter and actress. She is renowned for directing The Sleepwalker (2014), presented at Sundance, and The World to Come (2020), selected in Competition at Venise. She also gained international recognition for her collaborations as a screenwriter, notably with her husband Brady Corbet. She co-wrote Vox Lux (2018) and The Brutalist (2024), which was nominated for ten Oscars, including Best Original Screenplay. Her third feature-film, The Testament of Ann Lee (2025) had its world premiere at Venise.
