Alfredo SODERGUIT

Alfredo Soderguit is an award-winning author, illustrator, and animator from Uruguay.
He makes animated films with Palermo Studio, a collective, which he founded with other illustrators and animators. He is the director of the prize-winning animated film, Anina.
As an author and illustrator, he published more than forty books throughout Latin America, Spain, France, and Italy. His work has been selected for the Bratislava Biennale, the Bologna Book Fair Illustrator’s Exhibition, and the Children’s Literature Illustration Award of Uruguay. His 2020 children’s book, Los carpinchos, (The Capybaras) appeared in the New York Public Library Best Books of 2020 and the White Ravens list.

His work was nominated several times and his received the 2013 Best TV Special Award for Poppety in the Fall at the Festival d’Annecy (France).

She participates in the writing process, visual design, making and animation of characters and sets of other creators’ projects and was nominated for her own work several times with Les escargots de Joseph. She also won the Dresden Film Festival Best Animated Film Award (International Competition) for Whale Bird.
