Cercle Cité 90 min The 03/06/2026 4:15 pm

About

The objective of this session is to explore the profound transformation of the producer’s role in an era of radical shifts for independent cinema. We will discuss how to maintain artistic excellence while navigating an increasingly complex financial and technological landscape.

We will begin by defining the producer as author, strategist, and mediator. From there, we will tackle the pressing challenges of today’s industry, including financing in a polarized market, safeguarding the director’s vision, and the evolving ethics of impact and responsibility.

  • Introduction:

The role of the producer: Author, strategist, and mediator.

  • Pillar 1: The Economy of Audacity

Challenge: How to finance the “atypical” in a polarized market?

  • Pillar 2: The Creative Mandate

Challenge: Preserving and protecting the auteur’s vision.

The producer as a creative partner from script to screen.

  • Pillar 3: Responsibility and Impact

Challenge: Cinema as a tool for social, ethical, and industrial change.
