Disappearing, transforming, walking on walls, flying… These extraordinary phenomena have fascinated cinema since its birth in 1895!

The magician Georges Méliès was one of the first to understand the full magical potential of this new medium. By making nearly 600 films that combined theatre, illusion, and technical invention, he became the true pioneer of special effects.

This workshop invites participants to go back in time to discover the first special effects in cinema history and to experiment, just like Georges Méliès, with the magic of editing and directing by creating their own short trick sequence.

The final film, edited by the workshop moderator, will then be sent to the participants.
