Biography
Philippa Lowthorpe is a distinguished British director, born in 1961 and educated at St Hilda’s College, Oxford. She began her career in documentaries before making history as the first woman to win a BAFTA for Best Director: Fiction for her work on Call the Midwife. Her notable portfolio includes the multi-award-winning miniseries Three Girls and episodes of the acclaimed series The Crown. She also directed the 2020 historical film Misbehaviour (Miss Révolution).
