Sirvan MAROGY
Sirvan Marogy is a multilingual filmmaker fluent in French, German, English, and Luxembourgish, with over a decade of experience as a director, screenwriter, and editor based in Luxembourg. He co-wrote the feature film SAWAH with Dennis Foon and Adolf el Assal, which premiered theatrically in 2019 and was streamed on Netflix in 2020. In 2015, Sirvan served as a jury member at the Venice Film Festival in the “Giornate degli Autori” category. Born in Iraq, he and his family sought refuge in Luxembourg in 1997. His passion for cinema was ignited as a child in a refugee camp, where a television in his family’s tent became a source of fascination. This formative experience profoundly shaped his storytelling. Over the years, Sirvan has directed, filmed, and edited a wide variety of projects, including short films, corporate videos, music videos, TV shows, and youth initiatives.
