Synopsis

A documentary as playful as the late Martin Parr

I Am Martin Parr follows the British photographer on an intimate road trip through England, retracing his 50-year career and the evolution of his unique perspective on contemporary society. Through his iconic images, his contributions to Magnum, and his encounters with other artists, the documentary reveals how Martin Parr has reshaped modern photography by capturing the details of everyday life with humor, color and insight.

This heartfelt portrait highlights not only Martin Parr’s work but also his relation with the world and people he photographs. We discover a lively, passionate and deeply committed artist, engaged in a visual quest combining humor, social criticism and humanity.

A graduate in film and photography, he directed numerous films, videos and visual projects before shooting I Am Martin Parr, his first feature-length documentary, offering a sensitive and personal portrait of one of the most influential photographers of his generation.
