Synopsis
A vengeful ghost called the Mag Mag haunts local boys, leaving behind a trail of mysterious and violent deaths. When Sanae’s beloved crush becomes the spectre’s latest victim, she decides to embark on a quest for revenge. Through a series of interconnected chapters, Sanae investigates the ghost’s origins, unraveling the tangled web between victims, and discovers darker truths about who truly deserves her vengeance.
Celebrated comedian Yuriyan Retriever’s directorial debut is a wild ride of a horror-comedy that balances genuine scares with Retriever’s signature absurdist humor. A biting and wickedly funny take on the ghost story genre that honors and subverts J-horror conventions with savage glee.

Yuriyan RETRIEVER
Yuriyan Retriever is one of Japan’s most celebrated comedians. While studying literature at Kansai University, she joined Yoshimoto New Star Creation (NSC), Japan’s renowned comedy school. She came to international attention after her memorable 2019 appearance on America’s Got Talent, and has since expanded into acting, starring in Netflix’s The Queen of Villains (2024), rap music, and the visual arts. Mag Mag is her film debut.
