Nulpen
Synopsis
Ramona and Nico, two best friends fresh out of school, drift through a sweltering Berlin summer without direction or ambition. When a reckless impulse—shattering a neighbor’s window and freeing his rare bird—sets off a chain of events, the two self-proclaimed slackers find themselves on an unexpected journey across the city. Along the way, they navigate friendship, identity, and a world that asks them to take a stand, whether they’re ready or not.
Nulpen reimagines the coming-of-age story as an exploration of generational drift amid Berlin’s restless streets. A nuanced, sensitive, and humorous portrait of two teens suspended between apathy and awakening, this feature debut affirms Sorina Gajewski as a distinctive new voice in German cinema.
