Seeds
Synopsis
Seeds follows Black farmers in the rural American South as they move through the slow and demanding rhythms of agricultural life: planting, harvesting, repairing, waiting. Across seasons, families labor to sustain their generational farms amid financial strain and historic land loss, revealing how ownership, work, and memory shape both daily survival and their uncertain future.
Brittany Shyne’s breakthrough documentary is a deeply felt exploration of the Black farming community. With luminous black-and-white images and an observational approach to camerawork, Shyne transforms the challenges of agricultural life into a lyrical meditation on land, legacy, and perseverance.
