Welcome Home Baby
Synopsis
Judith, an emergency doctor from Berlin, inherits a house from the family who abandoned her as a child. Traveling with her husband to a remote Austrian village to sell the property, the two are met by her mysterious aunt and a community of smiling women who pressure her to stay. As buried memories surface through nightmares and hallucinations, Judith loses control over space, time, and her own will.
Prochaska’s latest is a mesmerizing descent into folk horror, where Lynchian atmospherics merge with Austrian rural dread. Julia Franz Richter anchors the hallucinatory journey with fierce conviction, while Carmen Treichl’s cinematography transforms pastoral landscapes into psychological labyrinths.
